Polo included in SEA Games XXVI

seagamesindonesialogoPolo has been included as a medal sport in the South East Asian Games XXVI to be held in Indonesia in November 2011 by the National Olympic Council of Indonesia.


Nusantara Polo Club, at Jagorawi Golf & Country Club, Karanggan, Cibinong, Indonesia, is expected to host the SEA Games Polo Tournament between 11 and 25 November 2011.

Polo will join Dressage, Jumping and Eventing as an “equestrian” sport at the SEA Games XXVI.

Polo has twice been played as a SEA Games medal sport.  It was first played in 1983 in Singapore.  Polo was reintroduced after a twenty-four year absence at the Korat/Bangkok Games in 2007.

Malaysia has never lost a game in SEA Games polo.  Five countries participated at the last SEA Games in 2007 – Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and hosts Thailand.
